I was born in Säffle in 1942 and I grew up in Vessigebro 15 km east of Falkenberg in Halland, now I live in Kungsbacka.
I trained as an engineer and in my professional role in life I have worked as a designer with components for diesel engines for boats and trucks.
My interest in drawing, painting, photography and design has always been great. In 1980 I started with oil painting, water-colour and kroki drawing, I now mainly paint oil paintings.
I have acquired my knowledge of my painting by taking oil painting courses for many years and making many art trips and visiting France, Italy, Bornholm, Öland, Gotland and Vessigebro in order to paint the areas I lived in.
I am a member of the art association FFiK in Kungsbacka.
With the oil painting, I can pick out a greater variety of colours and stronger colours than, for example, acrylic paint, which dries too quickly.
I have a fondness of nature in general, but specifically with cliffs and the sea. I find the sea to be exiting to paint because it is in constant motion. This is complemented by the cliffs which has a lot of different characteristics through it's colours and shadows.
I prefer to paint in the morning and later in the afternoon when the sun is lower and creates more shadows and gives more life in the painting for example, mountain areas, the sea, cliffs and nature, because the sun is not standing so high.
